Forest Young Man's Christian Association (or YMCA as the Village People would say) in Waltham Forest (north east London) have a project to turn shipping containers into "mYPads" - self contained studio flats complete with on suite bathroom and air condition, according to an article over at the Daily Mail (anyone allergic to the Daily Mail can find an article about the Daily Mail article at TNT Magazine).
They cost £20,000 to build and will be rented out by the YMCA at £75 a week, and it sounds like the YMCA are also are looking at selling them to individuals and organizations.
